This event will focus on the definition of a wetland, the history of wetlands in Ohio, and their importance to wildlife. On a stroll through the park, attendees at this event will be able to view a wetland and ask the event leader any questions they may have on the topic.

Those attending this event will learn the definition of ecology and how ecological systems coexist in Miller Park and other areas. A walk along the trails will provide an opportunity to see the habitat along a small creek, prairie restoration areas, and the natural succession of plant life in old agricultural areas.
Wildflowers, Trees, Shrubs, and Grasses
July 8, Presented by Bob Henn
Biologist and Author of “Wildflowers of Ohio,” Bob Henn, will discuss the rich mix of plants that comprise the habitat of Miller Park. On a hike in the park, Bob will point out some plants that may come as a surprise to those who didn’t realize they grew here in Lebanon.
August 12, presented by jim ludwick
Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist and photographer, Jim Ludwick, will talk about how to get great photographs of plants and animals along a nature trail. Bring your camera to this event and Jim will identify some shots you may want to capture and take home with you.
