Call Before You Dig

Call Before You Dig Information
By law, everyone must contact the Ohio Utilities Protection Service (OUPS) at least 48 hours, but no more than 10 working days (excluding weekends and legal holidays) before beginning any digging project. For your personal protection and the protection of the electric facilities, you must make this call. Contact the Ohio Utilities Protection Service at 8-1-1 or (800) 362-2764.

Contractors
When using a contractor, be proactive. Insist that your contractor makes the call to OUPS. Your help will greatly assist us with keeping Lebanon’s lights on and our community safe.

Ohio Utilities Protection Service
A vital resource for Ohio residents and businesses alike, OUPS acts as a communication link between utility companies and individuals planning any digging activity. For all the information you need to dig safely and protect your community, visit the OUPS website.

Contact OUPS
You can avoid a problem by calling OUPS. There’s no charge for the service, and the call is toll-free. Calling before you dig can not only save you money from a damage claim, it can also save your life.

City Power-Line Location
The City of Lebanon Electric Department locates all City-owned power lines when notified by OUPS. The City does not locate privately-owned power lines. In Lebanon, privately-owned power lines are underground service lines from the a transformer or secondary vault to the home or business.
