Architectural Review Overlay District Update

The City of Lebanon has contracted with a qualified consulting firm, MSA Design, for professional services to review the Architectural Review Overlay District (ARO). The existing preservation standards and map have not been modified in over 20 years. The ARO District updates will be completed with input from  City Council, Planning Commission, City staff and interested citizen stakeholder groups. The primary objective of the update is to create consensus among the stakeholders regarding the direction of future development within the historic areas of the City. The City formed a working group to help review the Historic Preservation Standards and to evaluate areas that border the District which may have a correlation to the historic standards. This group has developed draft standards, as well as a draft of an expanded ARO District map. Please see the map below which details the current and expanded boundaries.
