What is the Fluoride content of my drinking water?
The City of Lebanon purchases its water supply from the Greater Cincinnati Water Works. The Fluoride concentration within the water is approximately 1.0 mg/L, which is recommended by dentists for strong and healthy teeth.
My water looks cloudy. Is it safe to drink?
Cloudy water is caused by air bubbles in the water. It usually happens when it is very cold outside and air gets mixed in with the water. It is completely harmless. The best thing to do is let it sit in an open container until the bubbles naturally disappear.
What is the hardness of my water?
Lebanon purchases our water from the Greater Cincinnati Water Works, the hardness is approximately 150 mg/L (9 gpg). If you currently have a home water softener, you will notice longer runs between recharges and use less salt.
My water looks reddish. What is the cause of this, and what should I do when it happens?
Red water sometimes occurs when there is an increase or change in water flow, largely caused by water main breaks or fire hydrant activations such as during the annual flushing program. These occurrences knock off small particles of rust and stir up sediments in the pipes. It is a temporary condition that usually clears up in a couple of hours. You can clear the redness from your water service by running water in the bath tub. You may also want to run your washing machine one cycle with no clothes in it to prevent staining
I still have questions. Who should I call?
