Lebanon Businesses Revamp Downtown Locations Utilizing the Small Business Renovation Grant Program

The City of Lebanon Small Business Renovation Grant is a 1:1 matching grant of up to $10,000 for new and expanding businesses to help fund building improvements, such as interior renovations, façade rehabilitation, expansions and other qualifying improvements for qualifying businesses located within the City’s commercial districts. This year, the Small Business Renovation Grant was awarded to two local businesses, allowing them to open their doors to our community and create a positive economic impact in our historic downtown.

Revival Coffeehouse + Kitchen, located on N. Broadway next to Whit’s, is the latest coffee shop and restaurant to open in Downtown Lebanon. Revival Coffeehouse + Kitchen contrasts its bright, nature-inspired sister store, Greenhouse Café + Bar, by marrying dark, warm colors with geometric elements to create an inviting and relaxing atmosphere. Their renovations included updating plumbing, installing a bar and mop sink, and revamping the back outdoor patio for future use. Revival Coffeehouse + Kitchen’s menu focuses on healthier options for breakfast and lunch, offering Deeper Roots Espresso drinks, a variety of organic cold-press juices, smoothies, and fresh, fast-casual breakfast and lunch options.

“With the City’s support, we were able to give our space the attention it desperately needed, not only bringing it up to proper health code, but also creating a space for our community to enjoy for years to come.” – Lindsay Mescher, owner of Greenhouse Café + Bar and Revival Coffeehouse + Kitchen. Slightly North on Broadway Salon + Spa is located where its name states, slightly north on Broadway, near Berry Park. The renovations transformed a single-family home into a one stop shop for all beauty and boutique needs. To begin creating the future home of Slightly North on Broadway Salon + Spa, the interior was completely stripped to reveal the bare bones of the structure, providing a blank canvas to visualize the space. By utilizing recessed lighting and dynamic light fixtures, Slightly North on Broadway Salon + Spa enhances the natural light received by large windows, making the space feel open and welcoming. Their furniture and décor complement the space with a vibrant color palette and hints of metallic elements.

"We were thrilled to receive the Small Business Renovation Grant from the City of Lebanon. When my sister and I decided to merge Glad Rags Boutique with her salon, we knew the only place we wanted to call home was Lebanon. We searched for the perfect property for over a year, and we finally found it at 237 N. Broadway. We had to convert the historic home from a single-family dwelling to a commercial space. The grant was a welcomed boost to our investment in the renovation. We were able to bring new life to a beautiful home on Broadway. We are so happy to have recently opened Slightly North on Broadway Salon + Spa and we appreciate the support from the City." – Lauren Barnes, co-owner of Slightly North on Broadway Salon + Spa.
